My Story
Hello! My name is Carrie Hussel. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio with my husband and three daughters, ages 15, 14, and 10. I have two sweet pets, Penny, our dog, and Tigger, our cat. I enjoy being outside, spending time with my family, and, of course, reading.
I started teaching eighth grade language arts in 1999. Additionally, I have taught 6th and 7th grade language arts and have worked with a variety of learners (remedial, gifted, and English language learners). For the past six years, I have been a reading specialist working with students from grades
third through eighth.
I have spent my entire career teaching literacy in either the regular classroom or
intervention.
I received my bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University. I am certified to teach grades 4-9 in
language arts, reading and social studies. Additionally, I completed my master’s in teaching English through Miami University of Oxford, Ohio. Finally, my reading endorsement was completed through Heidelberg University.
I love the creativity that teaching offers in either a large classroom setting or in a small group. My first priority is always getting to know my student(s).
A relationship between the student, teacher and parent is essential for success; thus, it is a top priority for me. I believe all children can learn and grow as individuals, and I work diligently to ensure student success.
