My Story

Even when I was still a child, I always knew that I wanted to work with kids. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary & Early Childhood Education at Temple University and began teaching elementary school in 2003. My love of math led me to pursue my Master’s Degree in STEM Mathematics Education at Brooklyn College. 

I worked as a general education teacher of students with Autism, ADHD and dyslexia. Later in my teaching career, I noticed that some students were not developing early reading skills at the rate of the rest of the class. After some research, I decided to pursue Orton-Gillingham training at the Classroom Educator level. I went on to become an early literacy instructional coach and received extensive training in the Science of Reading.

I currently serve as an online math tutor and reading interventionist to students during and after school (elementary through high school). 

I have received training in Science of Reading, Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator, Orton-Gillingham Associate, Lindamood-Bell: Seeing Stars, Wilson Fundations, Really Great Reading, Reading Rescue, RAVE-O, Hill95, Empower and Heggerty.

I love to watch students learn and grow over time. It gives me pride to see them take ownership of their learning and overcome obstacles. I look forward to joining your child on his/her learning journey.
