My Story

Hello! I’m Shannon, and I live in Monroe, CT, with my husband and two children, ages 12 and 16. Fun Fact: I love to sing and occasionally perform in local community theater.

My credentials include a BFA in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC and a Masters Degree in Special Education from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT. I am a certified Special Education Teacher in my twentieth year of teaching with experience working with elementary, middle school, and high-school children. My strong background in literacy as a Wilson Level 1 Certified Practioner, among other programs, allows me to effectively assess
each student’s concerns and prepare appropriate learning opportunities to help them to be successful readers and writers.

My greatest triumph as an educator is watching these students blossom into confident, fluent readers, and the joy they experience as they realize all they have accomplished. I can’t wait to work with your child and help them reach their goals!
