My Story

My passion for education stemmed from my own successes and struggles in school as I learned how to work with my own dyslexia and become my own advocate. Thanks to the teachers in my life, I knew I wanted to serve all students regardless of their setting. I received my bachelor's degree in Special and Elementary Education from the University of Evansville.

My lessons are rooted in self-advocacy, having a growth mindset, and research-based practices to best meet the needs of each learner. I work alongside your child's strengths and interests to create engaging virtual lessons to address their learning needs to build all content area skills along with sharing my own tools and tricks for successfully working and living with your disability. I use a variety of highly effective programs to create personally tailored virtual lessons for my students.  As a trained Special Educator, I am able to easily incorporate IEP goals into my lessons and collaborate with your child’s IEP team.

I love to travel and have called more than 10 places home on 3 continents while working in different capacities within education over the last 12 years. I integrated reading science and Orton-Gillingham practices into classrooms in Liberia and the Dominican Republic, as a literacy specialist with the Peace Corps. In the United States, I have taught all subjects in various inclusive and self-contained special education settings working with students with learning disabilities, autism, and social-emotional needs. As a continual learner, I have refined my practices through programs like Reaching All Reader, PilotEd Curriculum Fellowship, Rollins Center for Language, Literacy Endorsement, Fundations, and more.

Now, I am continuing my own education as a Coverdell Fellow at the Arizona State University getting my master’s in Education Policy with a certificate in Global Development and Invention. I am tutoring full time, and have availability during the day and evenings to work with your child.
