My Story

My passion for education stemmed from my own successes and struggles in school as I learned how to work with my needs and become my own advocate. Thanks to the teachers in my life, I knew I wanted to serve all students regardless of their setting. I received my bachelor's degree in Special and Elementary Education from the University of Evansville and recently received my Master's in Education Policy with a graduate certificate in Disability Studies from Arizona State University.

My lessons are rooted in self-advocacy, having a growth mindset, and research-based practices to best meet the needs of each learner. I work alongside your child's strengths and interests to create engaging virtual lessons that address their learning needs and build all content area skills. I also share my tools and tricks for successfully working and living with your disability, primarily through executive functioning coaching. I use a variety of highly effective programs to create personally tailored virtual lessons for my students.  As a trained Special Educator, I can easily incorporate IEP goals into my lessons and collaborate with your child’s IEP team. I love helping families and students advocate for their needs at your school as a parent coach.

I have taught all subjects in various inclusive and self-contained special education settings, working with students with learning disabilities, autism, and social-emotional needs. I have also worked internationally, coaching teachers to integrate Orton-Gillingham and other research-based practices into literacy instruction.  As a continual learner, I have refined my practices through programs like SIPPS Challenge Level, Fundations, Reaching All Readers, Rollins Center for Language, Literacy Endorsement, among others. I have availability on weekday evenings.
