Did you know there are 9 ways to make the long /a/ sound?

After short vowel sounds are mastered, many students struggle to keep up with the complex phonics of long vowels. 

While these concepts are taught in school, students often can't keep up with the fast pace in which these combinations are thrown at them. ​

This self-paced class allows students the time to learn and practice these long vowel combinations and work until mastery of one sound before progressing on to the next.

Each session has a teaching video that can be watched as many times as needed, plenty of opportunity to practice, and feedback from a teacher before the student progresses to the next step. Perfect for the busy family that can't commit to regular class times and students who need to move at their own pace.

Each student receives access to a Google Classroom with the following: 

• An introduction teaching video for each new vowel sound taught.

• Engaging daily assignments to reinforce the concept.

• Guided practice videos for how to complete each assignment.

• Hands-on and creative methods to practice each vowel sound.

• Games and practice, practice, practice for each vowel sound.

• Built in review to reach and keep mastery of each vowel sound.

• Teacher graded unit quizzes to ensure mastery before moving on. Students will recieve additional practice and instructional videos as needed.

• Optional Zoom calls for additional support, if needed.*

 

Technology Requirements:

• Access to Google Classroom (must have a Gmail account)

• Kami downloaded or ability to print and scan assignments

• Computer access to the internet

Prerequisites:

• Students should have a strong foundation of short vowel sounds and consonant sounds.

• Students should be able to read single syllable short vowel words.
